Alternative Dispute Resolution

We have extensive experience in handling domestic and international commercial arbitrations conducted in Hong Kong administered by the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) and the International Chamber of Commerce International Court of Arbitration (ICC Arbitration). We also have experience in conducting arbitration in Mainland China. We have advised and represented clients in various technical and specialized industries, including oil and gas, aerospace and telecommunications, property development in Mainland China, solar glass, pulp and paper, steel and mining concerning disputes typically involving joint-venture agreements, shareholders’ agreements and international trading agreements.

Mediation is a conflict resolution process. In hostile and contentious situations where parties are ready to or have already begun litigations or arbitrations, our team in the mediation process helped our clients by offering strategic guidance and constructive advice, striving to find an agreement with their counterparties that would build better relationships, providing quality solutions that address the needs of all parties, and put an end to present conflicts and avoid future problems.

In addition, we are highly experienced in handling arbitration-related court proceedings, including injunction in aid of arbitration, stay of court proceedings for arbitrations, enforcement of arbitral awards and setting aside the enforcement of arbitral awards. We successfully represented our clients in the following notable court decisions:

(1) Gao Hai Yan & Anor v. Keeneye Holdings Limited & Anor. [2012] 1 HKLRD 627
(2) Arjowiggins HKK2 Ltd. v. X. Co. [2022] HKCFI 128
